JAMB shifts date for commencement of sale of UTME Application Forms

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said it would not commence sale of 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME application forms on Wednesday, November 22,2017, as earlier scheduled.

The postponement, according to the board was due to the delay in meeting agreed deadline by the publisher of the compulsory reading text meant for prospective candidates for the 2018 UTME.

JAMB, in a statement by its Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the publisher had promised to deliver all the texts for the 2018 candidates on or before the 7th of November, 2017. As at close of work today, the publisher had not provided the 1.8m copies required and this development painfully forced to the Board to shift the date from Wednesday 22nd November,2017 to a date to be announced soon.” It regretted “all inconveniences occasioned by this postponement”, saying it was working round the clock to announce a new date soon.

However, candidates are urged to visit the Board’s website to familiarize themselves with the brochure before the commencement of the sale of the application documents, it advised candidates.

It further said:”The brochure has been placed on the Board’s website so as to enable candidates study it and avoid some of the mistakes associated with filling the application documents.  Understanding the process will not only help the candidates fill the form smoothly, but will also brightened their chances of getting admission. “Please note that all arrangements have been concluded for the sale of the application documents and the conduct of the examination.

All reforms and the process of registration has been made very friendly and easy for candidates desirious of Appling for the 2018 exercise. The advertisement when out will explain step by step process of obtaining the application e-pins and registration.”

JAMB reveals number of registered candidates as registration ends this week

  JAMB has revealed that over 1,223,962 candidates have been registered in the ongoing 2021  UTME  registration while over 63,586 candidates have been registered for the Direct Entry as of May 24th, 2021. This was contained in the weekly bulletin publication of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) via its official website. According to JAMB, the registration deadline remains May 29th, 2021. JAMB however did not disclose if the e-PIN  vending  will end on the same date as the registration. JAMB, tertiary institutions peg cut-off marks at 140,120, 100

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and heads of over 650 tertiary institutions in the country have agreed on cut-off marks for the 2018 admission exercise. The cut-off marks were part of decisions taken at the 2018 policy meeting by JAMB, university Vice Chancellors, Polytechnic Rectors and Provosts of Colleges of Education, and other heads of tertiary institutions. The policy meeting also approved that the 2018/2019 admission exercise will start on July 17 to October 15 (merit), second choice start October 17 and admission will end December 17. Based on appeal and vote by the heads of tertiary institutions, the policy meeting approved that private universities should end their admission by February ending.
